The European Language Classroom - issues in language teaching for teachers and trainers across Europe. This series addresses issues that concern language teachers in both state schools and private education. The aims are to bridge the gap between current language teaching theories and classroom practice, and to benefit from sharing the expertise of foreign-language teachers who speak their pupils' mother tongue. TOWARDS TEACHING - a practical exploration of teaching skills - activities for teaching practice and language development. Language teachers need many skills beyond their knowledge of the subject. Towards Teaching provides activities to help teachers identify and develop these skills. At the same time, these activities will develop teachers' own language proficiency. The activities in Towards Teaching also provide useful models for newly-qualified teachers to take into their own classrooms.
